What Is A Dress?
Dress (also known as frocks or gowns) is a garment consisting of a skirt with an attached bodice (or a matching bodice giving the effect of a one-piece garment).
A day dress is a flexible piece of clothing for a woman's clothing collection. It is basically a dress designed to be worn during the day; i.e., not a cocktail dress or an evening gown, which are meant for elegant events in the night. Day dresses are outstanding clothing alternatives for many events, and can be dressed up or dressed down based upon on the occasion and time of day.
The first sign of a day dress is length. Though this is not often the case, a day dress is often roughly knee length; it may be shorter or longer, but knee length is a functional length that appears to be good with heels, flats, or even boots. A day dress may be sleeveless or strapless, or it may have sleeves. Day dresses that are sleeveless or strapless are generally a bit dressier than those with sleeves that go over the shoulders. A day dress may be made out of any sort of clothing fabric, and found in any possible style.
Commonly, this kind of dress is one that might be worn in the office. A dress for the business office will have sleeves, and will look professional. It will usually be worn with flats, however heels are of course suitable for the office as well. Day dresses may also be worn on the weekend; some are made with soft, comfy cotton, and are especially nice to wear when running tasks on warm summer days.
